We decided to drive down to Yellowstone one random Tuesday in September. Our buddies were in town from Texas and a few of us had never been. So, with hopes of catching the park to ourselves, the five of us, plus Marley, loaded up in a ‘98 suburban and drove into what turned out to be a verrrrryyyy packed Yellowstone National Park.
We only planned for a few hours here, which, let’s be real, you cannot do Yellowstone in a day, let alone a few hours. First of all, It’s pretty incredible the amount of people this place attracts, not to mention the distances people travel just to be here. Secondly, we quickly realized this wasn’t the best place to bring Marley. She spent most of the time sitting in the car watching plenty of elk and people move past her :’(.
As a Yellowstone first-timer I was in awe of how diverse the park is. One minute we were checking out geysers, and the next we would be just feet away from some magnificent animals that I'd never seen before. Then we drove a distance towards canyon and waterfall viewpoints, saw some bluest blue lakes and finished up at Mammoth Hot Springs...it goes on forever!!
Here are some of the highlights from the trip, I can’t wait to go back.
